Blog Entry: So its definately been a while since Ive strapped skates to my feet at our rink here in La crosse. Headed over that way twice this week, Thats more time ive spent there in a week than I have in the last 2 years. I have to tell you, I really have missed skating, and running away from my hometown. Unfortunately, all I can do right now is skate here.
If you guys dont remember me, its probably because my last name has changed... I was an abraham, and now Im a skiles. Thats right Ive grown up and got married, I also have a 10 month old son now, so traveling is kind of out of the picture for the time being. Ive been busy the last two years trying to get things in order for school, and life, and love. I married a man who doesnt skate, which i am just fine with that because I dont know if I could handle marrying someone who loves to do what I do, it would drive me nuts, skating is MY thing in this relationship, and I like to have personal time at the rink and not being followed everywhere.
I Thought id check out the empire just to see whos all stll here, and Ive found quite a few people that I havent seen in a long time.
You know its kind of funny looking back and realizing how much skating was to me, and now even though I still love skating, I dont want it to take over my life. Im happy where I am, I enjoy spending time with my family (oh my god... Thats wierd to see me type... lol) and I enjoy being a mama. I've found myself. But dont be surprised if you see me pop up every now and again at events, not to compete.. just to watch and see people i havent seen for a long time. you know I need my "me time" I hope everyone is doin alright, and I wanted to let you guys know how much I missed you all.
